One way that can be seen is by looking at the longevity of our associates.
Our "Over 20 Team" – which includes all associates who have been with us for 20 years or longer - has reached over 1,400 associates, making up 17% of our total workforce. That's a combined total of 40,225 years of service and 16,152 total years of safe driving.
Our Over 20 Team represents our associates who have found the right place – they've found something special here. 
This team and its members represent all facets of us – from corporate leaders to service center leadership to local and regional drivers. Every role here is represented in the Over 20 Team.

DECADES OF SAFE DRIVING

Asheville city driver Brent Hawks joined our team in 1993 as a shuttle driver, and in addition to his current role, he also spent time on the dock. Through his 31+ years with Averitt, Brent has achieved an incredible 30 years of safe driving.

Brent explained some of the things he focuses on when driving. “Following distance is an important one. Another one is mirrors. You need to be checking the small ones, too.” Brent’s biggest tip for drivers is simple. “Slow down,” he says. “You don’t need to be in a hurry and put you and other drivers at risk.”

Congratulations, Brent, on achieving 30 years of safe driving, and thanks for all you do!
