Averitt Announces 2nd Pay Increase for Regional Truckload Dry Van and Flatbed Drivers This Year

Averitt Announces 2nd Pay Increase for Regional Truckload Dry Van and Flatbed Drivers This Year

June 7, 2021 - COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - As part of its continued 50th anniversary celebration in 2021, Averitt Express has announced another pay enhancement this year for drivers.

All regional truckload dry van and flatbed drivers have received increases, with additional pay raises based on hazmat certifications for some drivers. It is the second pay increase for these groups of drivers in the past six months.

Effective June 7, 2021, all regional truckload dry van drivers without a hazmat endorsement will start at 52 cents per mile and average $1,200 in five days, with an estimated annual compensation of $62,400 per year.

Regional truckload dry van drivers with their hazmat endorsement will start at 55 cents per mile and average $1,350 in five days, with an estimated annual compensation of $70,200 per year.

Regional flatbed driving associates will start at 57 cents per mile and average $1,440 in five days, with an estimated annual compensation of $74,880 per year.

In addition to mileage pay, regional dry van and flatbed drivers earn additional pay through Averitt's "More Than Cents Per Mile" pay package, which includes minimum mile pay, per diem, layover, multi-stop and detention pay, plus additional amounts for assisting within Averitt's LTL linehaul network. For full details, visit AverittCareers.com/MoreThanCentsPerMile.

The pay enhancements add to Averitt's strong benefits package and other amenities, including state-of the art facilities, modern equipment with dynamic safety technology, on-site fueling and on-site maintenance.

Additionally, Averitt offers a referral program that pays up to $3,750 for the hiring of a referred candidate, and a rewards program that incentivizes positive actions such as achieving operational goals and safe-driving milestones.

"We are proud to continue providing a strong pay and benefits package for our regional drivers, as well as a team that is dedicated to supporting them on and off the road," said Danny Crooks, Averitt's vice president of corporate transportation. "For 50 years, we have worked to create a culture that is people-focused and a team that has our drivers' backs over the long haul."

This increase for regional driving associates comes just weeks after an increase for local drivers and operations associates in Averitt's 85 LTL service centers. Regional drivers have an opportunity to transfer to local or dedicated driving positions throughout the company's network after just six months of regional driving with Averitt.
