COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Building on its culture of supporting associate health and wellness, Averitt recently completed several major facility upgrades in Cookeville, TN, including an expanded Driver Support Center at the Cookeville service center and a newly reconstructed Wellness Center and an enhanced outdoor recreation area at its corporate campus.
Averitt's Wellness Center, which originally opened in 2010, is an on-site health clinic exclusively designed for Averitt associates, spouses and dependents. Medical professionals at the Wellness Center provide a wide variety of health services, including acute and primary care, wellness and health promotion, health coaching, disease management, medication dispensing, and technology to support the delivery of care and coaching. Services are provided at no cost to Averitt associates and their families who are covered by the company's health insurance.
Averitt completely renovated the building to allow for expanded services for its associates.
"The enhanced Wellness Center is part of our ongoing commitment to invest in our team and provide comprehensive care and support for our associates," said Elise Leeson, Averitt's vice president of human resources. "In addition to having more space, we've also increased our staff, adding behavioral health services and physical therapists, further investing in the holistic health of our people."

Averitt has also expanded the outdoor recreation area located at its corporate campus. The area features new amenities such as:
"These new outdoor amenities are designed to help our team unwind, recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance," added Leeson.
The new outdoor areas are the latest expansion of Averitt's overall investment in fitness amenities for its associates.
Since 2007, the company has operated a full-service fitness center for its associates, complete with state-of-the-art equipment, changing rooms and showers. Operated by Rich Froning Fitness, the center's staff provides personalized coaching, nutritional counseling and more. Averitt associates and their family members have access to the fitness center at no cost.
In 2014, the company opened a walking trail that extends the length of most of the campus. Paved with 2,300 linear fleet of recycled tire rubber, the material making up the trail is an ecologically and environmentally friendly alternative to mulch or concrete.
The company has also recently opened a new Driver Support Center at its Cookeville-area service center.
The expansion will allow Averitt to provide over-the-road drivers with many comforts of home, including a lounge, exercise and break areas, showers, and laundry machines. The company operates 18 other similar facilities for its 4,000+ drivers throughout the country.
Additionally, the Cookeville-area maintenance shop has been updated with a new office and breakroom, an updated parts room, and new bathrooms, further enhancing the working environment for the company's maintenance professionals.
