At Averitt, we love it when our associates have an opportunity to show their skills, and recently, several associates tested their abilities at the Tennessee Trucking Association's Technical Skills and Driving Competitions and brought home awards to prove it!
Jackson TN city driver David Butler (below, right) and Tri-Cities shuttle driver Terry Jones (below, left) competed in the Tennessee Trucking Association Truck Driving Championship last weekend, and David placed second in the five-axle competition! Terry also competed in the four-axle division. Congratulations to David and Terry, and thank you for representing Averitt with skill and professionalism!
Jeremiah Carter (below, center), from our Lexington, KY service center, placed second overall, and won in the Fasteners and Brakes portion of the event.
Dylan Gusler (below, center), from our Roanoke, VA service center, won in the Preventive Maintenance Inspection and written test sections.
The skills competition that Jeremiah and Dylan competed in was open to preventive maintenance associates who are employed by a Tennessee Trucking Association (TTA) member, as well as those in surrounding states whose state is not holding a skills competition. The event featured a written exam, as well as hand-on testing of transmissions, engines, electrical systems, brakes and more.
Thank you to David, Terry, Jeremiah and Dylan for representing Averitt with professionalism, and congratulations on your performances!
