On August 17th, Averitt held our annual team softball tournament that brought together over 1,400 associates from all parts of the country. The annual event serves two very important purposes for our team: connecting with fellow associates to embody Averitt's culture and philosophy, and supporting Averitt Cares For Kids.
22 associate-comprised softball teams, including 12 co-ed and 10 men's teams, met on the field for a full day of comradery, sportsmanship, and giving. Associates and their families watched and participated in the tournament, enjoying food, giveaways, and family activities while cheering on the teams. At the end of the day, the Corporate Men's team took the men's tournament victory and Distribution & Fulfillment Team 1 took the co-ed victory.
The 2024 Averitt Softball Tournament had a record-breaking attendance of 1,405 associates and their families plus a donation from Averitt Cares for Kids to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The annual softball tournament is just another way Averitt shows their associates that their culture and belief in The Power of One is truly different. The team is continually promoting growth, teamwork, and a spirit of community throughout the year with different events and initiatives.
