Averitt has so much to offer our associates that the list seems to just go on and on! That's because on top of generous pay, we have unique compensation and rewards programs that other carriers just can't match.
First, we had some big news recently when we announced several changes to our compensation packages, including a historic pay increase for our less-than-truckload (LTL) group, a new guaranteed weekly minimum for regional and flatbed drivers, and a shorter waiting period in receiving benefits coverage for new hires.
The new LTL pay increase, one of the largest in our team's history, went into effect in May for driving associates, and also covered several other positions in the group.
We also established a weekly minimum guarantee of $1,250 for our regional and flatbed drivers. It's important to note that the weekly averages are higher than that. Regional drivers average $1,350 in 5 days while flatbed drivers average $1,440 in 5 days. The minimum pay guarantee offers peace of mind for a consistent paycheck when weeks don't go as planned.
On top of CPM pay, our regional driving associates are paid for layovers ($200), stops ($100), detention ($20/hour paid after 120 minutes), breakdowns (paid after 120 minutes), bumping the dock ($10/stop), local pickup & delivery ($50/stop), and shuttle runs ($200/run). Flatbedders can boost earnings on tarping ($60/stop), re-tarping ($30/stop) and load securement pay ($15/load).
When talking about our outstanding extras, we have to mention referral bonuses. The sky's the limit on referrals for all positions. For all referrals hired, the referring associate gets $1,000, plus Red Thinkin' Rewards points (see below for more on our rewards program!) for referrals who complete an application even if they're not hired. Once you join Averitt - and love it here! - you can pass the word to your family, friends and fellow drivers to earn bonuses and points.
Another big announcement had to do with our benefits. We shortened our waiting period for health benefits to just 30 days. That's a real boost for all full-time new hires and rehires, because we have fantastic low-cost benefits. Our insurance coverage includes medical, prescription, dental, vision and hearing starting as low as $88.90/week for family plans and $34.15/week for individual plans. We also offer FSA/HSA, 401(k), company provided life insurance, and holiday pay. In addition, associates receive holiday pay after 30 days and can enjoy paid time off after 90 days.
As an Averitt associate, we'll help you save for your future with our Profit-Sharing plan! In this program, our profits are given back to associates as monthly direct deposits into their 401(k) retirement accounts.
We also make it easy for our driving associates to look sharp every day by providing a $150 yearly uniform allotment.
No carrier has a better incentive program than our Red Thinkin' Rewards. This point system rewards our associates for things they do every day. Performing well builds up points, which associates can use on thousands of items in our catalog, from vacation packages to golf clubs, electronics to jewelry, and everything in between!
Join our team and take advantage of these amazing extras while building a career with a carrier that allows you to grow professionally. We promote from within! If you're looking to advance, you can do so at Averitt.
