We're always focused on letting our Averitt associates know how much we appreciate all they do every day of the year, but during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), we get a special opportunity to honor our drivers even more.
There are around 3.5 million truck drivers throughout the United States, working hard to transport more than 70% of all the freight in the country. Millions of Americans count on professional drivers like you to put food on the table, deliver important medications, medical supplies and raw materials, and keep the infrastructure of our communities together. We hope truck drivers everywhere are feeling the love wherever you go this week as well!
There are several ways Averitt shows appreciation to driver associates year-round, such as through significant pay raises, weekly minimum guaranteed pay for regional and flatbed drivers, and a large number of unique benefits including profit sharing and rewards for longevity and meeting safety benchmarks. We know Averitt would not be what it is today without our extraordinary team of drivers.
As part of Averitt's NTDAW celebration, we're giving away some incredible daily prizes to our driving associates.
There will be one lucky winner for each of the following:
The daily prize drawings also include 15 winners of each of these items:
Plus, we'll be assigning brand new tractors to some of our over-the-road drivers. If you're a current Averitt driver associate, check in with your local service center to learn what events they have scheduled for you this week.
It's important to us that we stay connected with our driver associates beyond NTDAW. That's why we established a Driver Advisory Council. This is just another way we're able to show our drivers that we're here to listen all year long. Our Driver Advisory Council is made up of 16 drivers from all over our network, each with different backgrounds and experience levels to represent our diverse team. We meet with them every couple of months to ensure we get drivers' perspectives on the important decisions we're making.
Do you feel you have a voice at your current carrier? Do you feel appreciated and respected every day? If not, consider joining the Averitt team. You'll see a difference on day 1 and will want to stay with us long-term. As a matter of fact, 16% of our associates have been with Averitt for 20+ years. We promote from within, which means your career can grow and change with your personal and professional needs. A wide variety of opportunities are always available in all of our service units and facilities across our network.
We hope you enjoy NTDAW - Averitt thanks you for your important work!
