Our Driving Force Is People. This is a core principle at Averitt and is something we focus on daily to provide our associates with lifelong and rewarding driving careers. During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW), we get the chance to uplift and honor our associates even more.
Professional truck drivers are the backbone of America and its economy, delivering over 11 billion tons of food, medications, raw materials, and other supplies every year. Without your hard work, specialized skill set, resilience, and dedication, millions of Americans would go without those necessities. Your hard work does not go unnoticed - thank you for all the important work you do.
We want our driving associates to feel respected and appreciated every day they put on Averitt red. That's why we designed a supportive, people-first culture where we strive to make sure each day is better than the last, and the opportunities for growth are endless. We do everything we can to set up our associates for success through our commitment to competitive compensation and pay raises, modern equipment, and unique benefits, including profit sharing and rewards for meeting safety benchmarks. Without our extraordinary team, we would not be who we are today.
To celebrate NTDAW -- and add a lot of fun -- we're giving away daily prizes! To extend the excitement even further, we'll also be giving away 25,000 points in our points-based incentive program (a $100 value) and $50 uniform gift certificates.
Five OTR drivers will be assigned brand new 2024 Freightliners. And, to ensure everyone wins something, we're hosting free cookouts across our network!
While we're excited to celebrate NTDAW with you, our commitment to our associates goes beyond one week of the year. Our Driver Advisory Council comprises 16 drivers from all across our network, with different backgrounds and experience levels to represent our diverse team. We meet with them throughout the year to hear our associates' voices and get their invaluable perspectives on important decisions. In this way, we're able to show our associates that we're listening to them all year long.
The difference at Averitt is clear on day 1. We're proud to say that 16% of our associates have been with us for over 20 years -- we believe in promoting from within and supporting drivers as their careers grow and change with their personal and professional needs. To enjoy the respect and appreciation you deserve, join our team. A wide variety of opportunities are always open across our service network.
Happy NTDAW from everyone here at Averitt. We can't thank you enough for all you do!
