In our unwavering pursuit of enhancing freight transportation and supply chain management, our mission has always been to redefine industry standards while remaining committed to the communities we serve. We are excited to share about the opening of our new distribution and fulfillment facility in Theodore, Alabama. This marks a significant step forward in our ongoing journey to further serve the needs of shippers in the Mobile Metropolitan Area and continue our presence in the Port City.
Located within the South Alabama Logistics Park, our distribution and fulfillment center strategically aligns with the Port of Mobile. This new facility includes a 120,000-square-foot warehouse and a 35,000-square-foot cross-dock so we can meet the needs of our customers.
Designed to cater to the diverse needs of our partners and customers, this location features a 60-door LTL dock with ground-level access and dock levelers, a fully ventilated and heated adjoining warehouse with 20 doors and dock levelers, and over 400 truck and trailer parking spaces. There is also a Driver Support Center, featuring a driver lounge, satellite television, restrooms with showers, and a laundry room, as well as enhanced security measures and safety tech, including electric fencing, gated entry, and 24/7 video surveillance.
Beyond these specialized features, our facility aims to be a gateway for shippers, offering access to our asset-based fleet and a distribution network covering North America. This location underscores our commitment to delivering comprehensive, efficient, and environmentally responsible logistics solutions.
In our efforts toward sustainability, this facility incorporates energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors, all-electric forklifts, and other environmentally responsible technologies. These steps reflect our commitment to minimizing our environmental impact and promoting a responsible supply chain.
Our new facility in the Mobile area is not just another logistics hub - it signifies a new chapter in our journey as we look forward to continuing to partner with the local community in the area's growth and success. For more detailed information, explore our new facility and the services we offer at Averitt.com/Mobile.
