In 2021, Averitt Express has a lot to celebrate. Last month, we joined the nation in recognizing the hard work of our truck drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week (NTDAW). And we put a 50th anniversary spin on it!
Each day of NTDAW, we awarded 20 drivers a $50 Cintas gift certificate, 30 drivers 25,000 Red Thinkin' Rewards Points, 15 drivers a Blue Beacon Truck Wash Gift Card and 11 drivers a brand-new Blue Parrott Headset. Throughout the week, five drivers received a 32" LED Smart TV, four drivers received a tablet or iPad and five drivers were gifted a Garmin OTR700 GPS. Adding to the excitement, we assigned five drivers brand-new 2022 Freightliners.
Averitt service centers hosted their own celebrations with even more prizes, food, Averitt swag and awards. Several locations hosted cookouts or offered drivers catered breakfast, sandwiches, and pizza. Drivers across the country were honored by Averitt for their time with the company, referrals and safe driving.
In Hewitt, TX, one driver won a model Averitt diecast sleeper truck. Drivers in North Charleston were gifted ChappyWrap blankets. Associates in Atlanta, Louisville and St. Louis enjoyed local barbecue. And in the Sunshine State -- at our Orlando and Miami locations -- Averitt celebrated with ice cream trucks!
We appreciate our drivers all of the time, but it's nice to take time to do something extra special to recognize their tireless and indispensable work for not only Averitt, but the entire country.
